"Let a man consider that God always seeth him from Heaven, that the eye of God beholdeth his works everywhere, and that the angels report them to Him every hour."
An easy method of maintaining one's humility, St. Benedict points out, is to recall that nothing can be hidden from the Eye of God.
This kind of divine knowledge by the light of Faith should be infinitely more ponderous than the prospect of the so-called Panopticon in our own times where privacy no longer exists and the prospect of being seen by others in turn regulates our individual conduct (think social media, "canceling", cyberbullying and all that).
Now modernity has already constructed a panopticon that would be the envy of Orwell's "Big Brother". So, this technological monstrosity we've constructed should make the mere thought of God's infinite knowledge all the more discomforting to the root of our sinfulness if it were not tempered by His love and mercy of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which still beats just as ours.
Remember, the world condemns with impunity, punishes with relish, but God alone truly forgives and endures our evil. This is the basis of the "Peace of Christ" which the world does not know, cannot know, and flatly rejects from now until the day of judgement.
Have patience and be humble, my dear brother. God will make known even the most minute of mankind's sins. No rock of this creation will be left unturned. Focus on your own amendment then for that is more within your power more so than the wretchedness of your fellow man.
